The South Australian Government is committed to supporting local industry to win supply chain work as part of the Australian Army’s LAND 400 Land Combat Vehicle System program.
One of the world’s largest armoured fighting vehicle programs, LAND 400 is designed to deliver the Australian Army’s mounted close combat capability. The project, to be centred in Queensland, will create nearly 1500 jobs nation-wide, while providing the opportunity for around 40 Australian businesses to be involved in supply chain work.
Rheinmetall Australia was selected as the successful tenderer of Phase 2 of the project, which will involve producing 211 combat reconnaissance vehicles worth up to $5 billion in acquisition, plus up to 35 years of sustainment and upgrade work.
