The Defence State to host major defence event in 2024

Adelaide has become the first city in the Southern Hemisphere to secure hosting rights to leading international maritime, air and space technologies defence event, MAST Australia 2024.
Comprising a number of business gatherings, tradeshows and talent fairs, the three-day event will run from 19-21 November 2024 at the Adelaide Convention Centre.
MAST Australia 2024 – which is themed ‘Talent, Technologies, Transfer’ – will explore issues of relevance to the Indo-Pacific region, drawing thousands of senior level government, military representatives and researchers from across the global defence community.
A program of high calibre of speakers, technical sessions and exhibitions will be on offer help foster opportunities for local companies, while the capabilities of local universities will be on display.
An Innovation Hub will also provide Lot Fourteen and Tonsley Innovation District defence and space companies a platform to promote their innovative products and technologies to delegates.
Deputy Premier and Minister for Defence and Space Industries, Susan Close, said, South Australia is leading the way in strengthening the nation’s sovereign defence capabilities and the event was an opportunity to showcase this.
“MAST 2024 offers an important opportunity to bring together policy and decision makers, defence industry and the R&D community to celebrate innovation and share perspectives in global defence policy, operations and future technologies,” Minister Close said.
MAST CEO, Warren Edge, said the event’s organisation looks forward to an ongoing relationship with South Australia to unite global defence communities in the Defence State.
“There is no other defence ecosystem in Australia like the ’20 Minute City’ of Adelaide, where you can meet SME innovators, primes, manufacturers, government officials and military leaders in such close proximity,” Mr Edge said.
“Our combination of events will speed that process up – all under one roof.”
