REDARC debuts customised Mission-Capable INEOS Grenadier
13 September 2024
South Australian company REDARC Defence & Space has unveiled a new Mission-Capable INEOS Grenadier that showcases its innovative power solutions and capabilities in a realistic, challenging environment.
Underscoring the company’s commitment to innovation and supporting the Australian defence industry, the 2023 INEOS Grenadier Trialmaster Edition has undergone a comprehensive customisation process by REDARC to demonstrate its ability to deliver solutions suitable for remote, harsh environments.
To equip the Grenadier for demanding missions in remote locations, a suite of power, communications, and recovery gear has been integrated into the platform, requiring collaboration with a range of partners providing high-quality, reliable products for extreme environmental conditions.
REDARC partnered with suppliers representing a suite of equipment commonly found on Defence land vehicle platforms. This included C4ISR equipment from a number of Australian SMEs, while the vehicle’s cargo area fit-out and mounting hardware were sourced by local manufacturers.
Several South Australian companies are contributing to the project. The Silentium Defence MAVERICK M8 passive radar has been integrated into the platform. Stärke Advanced Manufacturing Group crafted a custom CNC machined mounting solution for the vehicle’s display system. CODAN’s NetNode IP Mesh Radio ensures stable communication for power management telemetry, and JKSM Offroad has designed a rugged storage and shelving system to securely transport critical equipment.
With a long history of delivering reliable power solutions, REDARC Defence & Space General Manager Scott Begbie, said the collaboration showcased the leading capabilities of the company and its partners.
“REDARC Defence & Space is built on a foundation of innovation and collaboration,” Mr Begbie said.
“The INEOS Grenadier embodies this ethos and is the perfect platform on which to showcase not only our product and integration capabilities, but also our world-class partners that helped bring this project to fruition.”
INEOS Automotive Head of Region – Asia Pacific Justin Hocevar said the project was a great example of innovation.
“The INEOS Grenadier has proven itself to be highly resilient in some of the harshest of conditions,” he said.
“It’s incredible to see the engineering feat REDARC Defence & Space has achieved with their custom-built Grenadier, which showcases the very best of advanced Australian manufacturing innovation.”
The vehicle was unveiled at the Land Forces Expo in Melbourne.
