MCT Brattberg strengthens its position in South Australia

Swedish manufacturer MCT Brattberg is strengthening its foothold in South Australia.

The company initially set up its base at the Defence Space and Landing Pad in Adelaide in 2023 and has since gone on to secure a contract for the Hunter class frigate program establishing a permanent presence at Lot Fourteen.

With a long-standing history dating back to 1759, MCT Brattberg is best-known for the MCT Brattberg System – a modular multi-cable and pipe transit commonly used by the shipyard and construction industries.

Fast-forward to 2024 and MCT Brattberg will bring a plethora of experience to the Hunter Class program, working closely with BAE Systems Australia to supply electrical cable transit frames, deckhead and bulkhead glands for the first three Hunter class frigates.

MCT Brattberg Australia Managing Director Anders Folbert is committed to the success of the project.

“This strategic alliance with BAE Systems Maritime Australia provides the perfect foundation for future growth in the domestic market and opportunity for MCT Brattberg Australia to expand its Australian presence and capability.”

BAE Systems -Australia – Maritime’s Head of Supply Chain Scott Robertson acknowledged the positive impact of MCT Brattberg’s newly established footprint in South Australia.

“The company’s unique skillset will create more employment opportunities for Australians and ensure the performance of the Royal Australian Navy’s first Anti-Submarine Warfare fleet is world class.”
