Leading French software company establishing operations in Adelaide

Global scientific software company Dassault Systèmes are establishing a South Australian regional centre at the University of Adelaide.
Dassault Systèmes, headquartered in France, is known as the world’s leading provider for 3D design, simulation and Project Lifecyle Management (PLM) software.
Their technology is used to address some of the world’s most sophisticated design, management and manufacturing complexity challenges. The company have served the defence sector for more than 30 years and are known for their real-world tools and software, such as the 3DEXPERIENCE platform and Virtual Shipyard Training Program.
A strategic partnership has been formed between Dassault Systèmes and the University of Adelaide, to implement an engineering and defence industry-focused curriculum, including access to Dassault’s 3DS software platforms. The company will also host University of Adelaide interns at its Adelaide operations.
“With South Australia preparing for major defence contracts, including the Future Frigates and Future Submarines programs, we see a critical role for Dassault Systèmes in providing solutions for defence and other industries in this State,” said Mr Masaki Sox Konno, Asia Pacific South Managing Director for Dassault Systèmes.
“We are delighted to be establishing our South Australian regional centre at the University of Adelaide.”
The South Australian Government’s investment team supported Dassault Systèmes to explore their accommodation requirements in South Australia.
Minister for Trade, Tourism and Investment, Mr David Ridgway, highlighted the South Australian Government’s commitment to fostering digital innovation and entrepreneurialism in the state.
“I am thrilled that one of the world’s great digital innovation companies is forging deep relationships here in South Australia. This relationship between Dassault Systèmes and the University of Adelaide exemplifies their shared commitment to innovation and cooperation,” Mr Ridgway said.
“Years from now, I believe that Dassault Systèmes commitment to working collaboratively with industry and academia to develop new digital capability and train the next generation of digital workers in the State will be viewed as one of the critical transformative influences over our economy.”
The new Adelaide-based team will comprise of staff from France and India, with the centre expected to open at the University of Adelaide later this year.
