14 August 2024
South Australian company APC Technology has been selected by Hanwha Defence Australia (HDA) as the sole domestic supplier of Australian Standard General Vehicle Architecture (ASGVA) displays for the Commonwealth’s LAND 400 Phase 3 program.
In 2023, HDA secured the $4 billion Defence contract to deliver and support 129 locally built Redback infantry fighting vehicles for the Australian Army, with vehicle deliveries scheduled to commence in 2027.
The selection of APC Technology as a supplier to the project marks a major milestone for the leading manufacturer of advanced display solutions and a giant leap in Australia’s ongoing sovereign capability efforts.
The ASGVA by APC Technology is a 30.3cm ultra-rugged smart display, capable of hosting C4ISR (Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance) applications for combat vehicles.
Managing Director of APC Technology Craig Williams is thrilled to be selected.
“This project is a testament to the world-class capabilities of Australian engineering and manufacturing,” he said.
“We are incredibly proud to partner with HDA and contribute to the LAND 400 Phase 3 program with our innovative GVA screen technology.”
The project will predominantly leverage the Australian supply chain and local skills, with at least 10 new positions earmarked to support project management, engineering and manufacturing efforts.
Mr Williams added that the knowledge and expertise gained through this contract will benefit future advancements in GVA screen technology.
“This project embodies the potential of Australian innovation and paves the way for future advancements in defence technology.”
